Jodie Boffa is a Sydney-based designer and artist whose minimalist practice distills works to their fundamental elements—light, colour, and form. Through iterative experimentation with printing techniques, she creates layered grids and delicate colour relationships that embody "subtle complexity." Her non-representational work explores composition, space, and perceptual boundaries through material investigations of ubiquitous everyday objects.
By revealing what often goes unseen, Boffa's art invites reflection on our existential, social, and emotional connections—challenging how we interact with and relate to the world and each other.
bio
Jodie Boffa's career spans both fashion design and art, with notable achievements
including winning several prestigious awards in fashion, founding her own brand,
and later transitioning to a focus on an art practice. Jodie has completed a BFA (2024)
at the National Art School, majoring in printmaking. Her diverse background reflects
a commitment to pushing creative boundaries across multiple disciplines in which
she continues to investigate the materiality through everyday objects. The interplay
of transparency and opacity, screens and the geometry of stripes and grids serve as
subtle conceptual tools that inform ideas around “trace” and “erasure” and shape her
practice which aims to draw attention to the things we don't see.
